Steeleiland Roermond is part of an industrial legacy that is being redeveloped into a residential area. Surrounded by the river, the island lies in the Roer Delta close to the city centre. It’s an oasis in the city. 

We responded to the client’s request to build high-density city homes by designing 27 patio homes with a lot of privacy. The semi-detached pattern is enlivened by varying the design of the homes, leading to an interesting ensemble of housing. An intimate neighbourhood feeling has been created through the use of beautiful brickwork links with a warm, natural appearance. 

The first 8 homes are being built at the moment.
